Adopting a cat or dog from ILLINOIS HUMANE is a relatively easy task. You can visit our animals on-line (see link below) at Petfinder and then contact us if you'd like to meet one of them in person. You can also visit with some of our animals during our offsite adoptions.

We have a great volunteer staff to assist you in choosing the right pet for you, your family, your housing situation and your other animals. We do require an application to be completed for your adoption. ILLINOIS HUMANE also conducts a home check before approving each adoption.

Our adoption fees start at $150.00 for a dog and $50.00 for a cat. ILLINOIS HUMANE also ensures that each animal adopted is spay/neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.

Foster Information

Are you able to provide a safe and loving environment for cats getting ready to be placed in their forever homes?

Illinois Humane is looking for foster homes for some terrific cats in great need.

We will work closely with you to make sure the cat you foster is a good fit for your household and you. Then we will continue to work together with you in the care of the cat. Our common goal is to find just the right placement for the cat and we depend on our fosters who will get to know the cat and are a valuable resource in the adoption process.

Fostering is a very important and vital step in our adoption process, and one that we can not do alone. Please help us make a difference in the life of a deserving cat. The rewards are tremendous!
